Default Another rear diff question

I have the 8.25(or what ever the 8.xx is) limited slip diff and it was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. About 1000 miles ago I lost the pinnon seal and lost 90% of the fluid. The rear diff started to whin before the pinnon seal was replace. The stealer said that the whin is normal but I am woundering what other people think. The whin is most noticable at 40 to 50 mph.
Also would have driving the truck with little fluid messed up the limited slip?

Could have, but With that seal falling out shouldn't the re-builder be responsible.

my 98 done almost the same thing just put some lucas gear oil and see if that don't help. it made mine stop whinning. and did the rebuilder put the thing back in the truck....if he did that would be the only way he should be responsible. but if you need another rearend i have one with 66,000 on it i could give you a pretty good price

The dealer rebuilt diff and axle. After the rebuild I lost one of the abs sencors and then the pinon seal. And I had to pay to fix the pinon seal f-ing dealer. My father never had the fluid replaced which is why I screwed everything up but the whinning is starting to **** me off. I think I am going to ditch at the service manager tomorrow.
