POWER OUTLET PROBLEM 2000 Dakota

RE: POWER OUTLET PROBLEM 2000 Dakota
Not sure if they are the same but on my 2000 Durango it was located on the back side of the fusepanel (same place the flasher mounts).
Had to go in from under the dash and it was on the very bottom row. There were 4 fuses there. The one in question was the only 20 amp fuse. Second from the left. Sure enough it was blown.

If you don't already own one, buy a cheap multimeter from someplace like Fry's Electronics or Radio Shack. You don't need anything complicated or expensive. Set the multimeter to check resistance (or continuity mode, if it has that option) and put each of the leads on the little metal tips that are exposed on the top of the fuses, while they're still in the fuse panel. If the resistance level is 0 or close to it, then the fuse is good. If the resistance is high (or reads an open value), then the fuse is blown.
You can check the whole fuse panel in just a few seconds using this method, without pulling a single fuse.
