dakota on a chevy frame?
I want to lift my truck but i cant find a big enough lift kit for the dakotas, i have a 2000 extended cab 4x4, so i was thinking of putting my body onto a 4x4 straight axel chevy frame. I know the width of the frames are really close, i used a hitch off of a chevy and it was the right width i just had to make new holes for it. I dont mind modifying the frame, i weld so its no problem moving body mounts or shortening the frame if it needs it. Has anyone seen this done before or have any suggestions?
there will be plenty of pics. it will be alot of work but it will be worth it, ive done body dropped trucks and had to do alot of modifying there so this is just going the opposite way.
with a lil modification you can make anthing fit.
I wonder if the late 90's rams frame is almost the same. or why dont you just do a SAS on the font of your dak,

i thought about doing a sas but having a hard time finding parts.
as for the model and year, i would think it would have to be an extended cab for years im really not sure, id like to find an older one with a straight axel. the width of the chevy frame and dodge frame are very close i would have to modify thebody mounts and im not sure about the distance between the wheels, some of the frame might need to be shortened. i had my truck parked next to a full size 88 chevy and they were very close in size
