injectors
well... I found out why my truck idles rough and stalls the odd time. this morning when I was on my way to work the CEL came on. so on my lunch I checked the codes with the superchips and I got
P0203 (M) Injector #3 Control Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in control circuit for injector #3 or the INJ 3 injector bank.
P0206 (M) Injector #6 Control Circuit Injector #6 or INJ 6 injector bank output driver does not respond properly to the control signal.
so should I just replace them or is there a way I can check to see why its throwing a code. or should I just replace all 8 of them so I dont end up replacing 1 at a time when they start to go.

you might have got mud inside the plastic connector piece or something. you may as well clean out those two injectors while your at it. I just had to go through an injector fiasco after putting my new intake manifold on. Whatever you do, DONT LOSE THE INJECTOR RETAINING CLIPS. I had to go to a upullit junkyard and take a couple off a dodge caravan.
I dont have to take the injectors out to clean them do I? I was thinking on just running some fuel injector cleaner through and see if that works. its more of a random thing, it doesnt do it all the time. maybe acouple times a week at most.

However, the PCM won't throw injector codes for a clogged or stuck injector. Only if the injector is open/shorted internally will the code be the injector itself. Use a stethoscope to see if the #3 and #6 injectors are firing (and the others). If not, check curcuit operation with a noid light before condemning anything. If the noid light flashes but the injector doesn't fire, you've got a bad injector. If the noid light doesn't flash, check the power side of the connector. No power, you'll have tocheck for power at it's source. If it has power but no pulse signal, you 'll have to check for signal at the PCM connector. No signal there, probably a PCM failure.
a 12v lamp with two wires can be used as a noid light. LED would be prefereable, since they turn on and off more rapidly than filament bulbs.
*I haven't bothered to check diagrams since I don't know what we're working on. Tell me, and I'l tell you where injector power comes from.

i would take them out because it would do a better job. it's not really that hard, you can get them out by just unbolting the rail, then they just pull out. make sure you lube up the o-rings on the top and bottom of the injector before you put them back in, you may even want to get new o-rings.
