RE: can you lower a 4x4?
I too hate lower trucks. I think a truck is to be used. As in putting things in the bed! And not to be looked at for nothing. Neither 2wd or 4wd should be lowered. But hey some people like it and I wont knock you down for liking it. I just agree with jonnymagnum on this. Just dont follow the crowd make it your own.

you can lower it 2". just crank the T bars down 2" (roughly 8 turns) and get 2" blocks or 2" lowering shackles for the rear.

The question at hand is CAN you lower a 4x4.
NOT would you. If all you have to post is your negative opinion, don't click reply.
to add to my original post flipstyle, I can't seem to find any kit for your truck, you could hop over to customdakotas.com ,
they can help you out,
Personally, I don't care much for lifted trucks that never see dirt, thats why mine's gettin 'bagged. the closest to off-road I see is my muddy driveway. and I love the minitruck style

another reason would be if you have an AWD trans case and want performance out of it, you could lower it, put wider lower profile tires on it and have an awesome handling truck. of course this would turn it into a pavement queen but if that was your goal to begin with, who cares? I've thought of doing just that to a std cab 5sp 4.7 4x4, better mileage & handling... plus a 5 spd...

I was even thinking on lowering my truck last year, since it never seen winter and never was off road, I thought about lowering it.... but now its comming out for winters now and it see's off roading the odd time. I raised it instead. people all have their own opinion, but in the end its still your truck. so do what you wanna do to it and dont listen to others.

Umm, he could have a R/T Durango, meaning its AWD not 4x4 and lowering would not be a problem. On Dakota-Durango.com there are some VERY nice R/T Rangos that are lowerd and look good, that white one above is just meximized.. i hate that ****, but lowering it 2 or 3 in isnt that bad, but bags are good to for car shows, and SUVS can be in car shows, so why not lower it?
The guy wants to know if you can lower it, and the answer is yes.
I want a lower a Duelly and bag it, you guys going to flame me to? lol...
