Default CEL on then off.

hello all, been a while since I posted, but, I have a little problem. My CEL keeps commons on then it turns off. Its really wet lately in PA for the past couple days. So my guess would a wet sensor? I'm not really sure. I'm afraid if I go to get it scanned, the light won't be on. So, any ideas?

Thanks

where in pa are you?... yeah you definately have an intermittne problem, next time it comes on, do the keydance, from the off position - on-off-on-off-on, without starting the engine, should throw you the codes, not sure if it will work on your year though, look in your odometer window for the code.. or go to autozone, free scan

I live rite outside of allentown, PA, but go to school at penn tech in williamsport, PA. Anyways, Mines a 99, so i dont think the key thing will work. I'll just get it scanned.

Thanks..

^^ As you surmised - the 99 can't do the key trick, you need to have it scanned. Some codes will stick around in the PCM even if the CEL isn't illuminated, but the only way to truly know what's happening is to catch it while it's lit.
