Default Dakota exhaust

I own a 2004 Dakota with a 4.7L engine and extended cab. I have a trailer hitch on it. Is there a cat back dualexhaust kit that anyone knows of that I don't have to remove the spare tire and willclear the hitch ? Also, after the truck sits all night, when I first run it in the morning, it sounds like it is reving real high for about 1/4 mile. The dealer says it is normal for the automatic 5spd. tranny? Is it ? My neighbor says his 2001does the same thing.

Mine rev like that too. Mostly when its cold and it stops after a few minutes, i wouldnt worry about that. And i would look for a good shop in your area that can custom build you an exaust.

I would go with the custom bending it.. It is a lot cheaper...Go true dual if you have the money...I did the two to one glasspack to two pipes...

I have a gibson exhaust with dual tailpipes that clears the hitch and spare but barely... I think I have anywhere from 1/2" to 1" of clearance.

After I get in my truck and its been sitting for a few hours and its pretty cold it shifts but it takes a while. It will shift in the normal spots but once I get to 80kph which is where it normally shifts it stays there not shifting for a few minutes. It never does this when its warm out. Is this caused cause its cold out, like the same thing you guys are experiencing?

Ok i know that the tranimishion will not shift into overdrive when the engine is cold. I do not know at what temp the overdrive will engage or what 80kmh is in mph(i do not fill like boing the math) but i would gues this is why.
