Torque converter grenaded...
...and took out the rest of the tranny, primarily second gear. After almost two weeks of wranging about which warrantee was going to cover the repair, the factory powertrain or my extended bumber to bumber, a steelership who was willing to even look at the problem finnaly tore the tranny down and found a big pile of parts. They are going to rebuild the tranny on site, so hopefully they know what they are doing. This repair will put the total at over nearly 4000 worth of work done on the truck on warrantee, much of which was done over at least once and probably could have been avoided if they had taken my initial complaint of a metal on metal knock in the driveline seriously when I bought the truck. Oh well, not a dollar out of my pocket so far, and ive gotten nearly a new drivetrain out of it, so i can't complain. They told me a week, so i probably get my truck back in a month. I can't wait to see what kind of rubber I can lay down with a tranny thats not made of mush.

Oh man your lucky. You didn't have to pay for it. I had for forke over 3200 for a tranny for my dak. The guy I bought it from used a cheap way out. He used a radiator hose for the transmission hose. Basically long story short, hose wasn't meant for high amount of heat, over time it got bigger and bigger then melted and everytime I hit the gas, tranny fluid would spew out. Pissed me off. But congrats. Can't wait to see what that thing can do once its out of the shop. I tried doing the same thing with mine once it was out
