a prelude is alot lighter than your dakota.if you are really looking into a v6 swap,look into the 3.7.that ia what is in my 2004 and it will run circles around the 3.9 that was in my 1999.
your missing the point... v6 swap = expensive, working with what he has = cheeper. I dont know of many who will go ahead and do a motor size swap so being realistic here, his best option is to work with what he has. the mods I suggested are cheep and easy to do. swapping a motor, even if the motor is the same one that went into the truck to begin with is alot of work not to mention the downtime of it all... add in a totally different motor and you may not be driving your truck for awhile.

oh and back to pwdrhauler, not sure if I mentioned this or not but if you wrap your fuel rails with heat insulating take (from thermotec) it will prevent your fuel rails from getting heat soaked. this will help keep the fuel going into the injectors cooler which will help some with low to mid range power (what your after)

drop i filter would be best along with some plugs and wires not worth doing a whole intake on a 4 exhaust would not b a bad idea
