I was wondering if any V6 owners have taken there little engine out and put a 5.9L 360 in or at least put a V8 in there dakota. I just want more power from my dakota i tend to have i little bit of a led foot. thank you for any comments and replys.

 

well I had a v6 2001 but ever since my totalge of it I went a head and got a v8 5.9 and man buddy does it solve that want for power I love having the power at the push of the peddle.

 

I am thinking of doing a v8 swap. I would of course buy a 5.9L.

 

So when you totaled your other truck did you buy another one with the 5.9L in it.

So does anyone know how much time it takes and the cost and maybe were to get the parts. i have snooped around sites were i could probably get a engine but no info on the engine swaps. thank you for all info.

 

not sure about all parts to do a swap.some parts should be useable,but you would need an ecu and engine harness to go with your year truck set up for a 5.9,otherwise it may not run properly or even pass emissions.

 

yea I got my 5.9 the next week. I knew perfectly what I wanted same badass look, bigger bite here are some pics of my old one and new one...

HOLY CRAP i would not be able to stand if that happend to my truck i would maybe have to cry. new looks cool though glad that your happy maybe i will just stay with the V6 and make it better. Any sugestions on how to give A V6 more bite but not loose the low end grunt by putting on a Exhaust system. thank you for all the posts. chris.
