4x4 problem help!!!!!!!

Default 4x4 problem help!!!!!!!

i have a 01 dakota quad cab 4x4 4.7 V8. my 4x4 dose not work at all. i thought it was the selector swicth so i replaced it because i had checked all the easy stuff (fuses, loose conn.) but it still dosent work.i have1 wire on the selector switch that has power but i still get nothing. i cant find a wire diagram anywhere on the net, any help will be appriciated please!!!! im going nuts with this problem. the lights on the switch dont come on either.

if im not mistaken, the 01's were on a recall for the transfer case having operational problems, and wouldnt allow it to shift out of a which ever drive it's in

there is a link to the manual up at the top of the forum. check the shift motor while someone turns the switch... you should see it rotate the shaft going into the t-case. there is a trans case swap DIY writeup that you can use as a reference to locate the shift motor.

well i checked power at the shift motor while the ignition was on and i dont have any power at any of the din plug wires, but i do have power at selector switch but only at 1 wire, and when i remove the 4x4 fuse at the fuse box under the hood i still have 12v. went to my locall dodge dealer for a schematic but they "could not print out that information" so they told me that for 90.00 they could check the truck for me[:@]and tell mewhat was wrong with it[sm=bs.gif]any one out there have a wire diagram or something to help me trace the wires

kwikquadcab, might check with another repair shop for a print.
I was charged 26 bux for a download of a print for my 02. I had
a electricial problem.

A shop may be able to get what you need...

well i finally got tired and took to the dealer, they found that the transfer case module was shorted out its a blue box under the steering colum it cost 240.00 and labor was 3hours@80.00 grand total of 490.00 [sm=chairshot.gif]o-well i took it like a man and they didnt even kiss me after!!! well im off to the sands good luck to all of you all with the same problem and thanks for the help!
