Default Heater Blower Help needed!!

This morning the heater blower on my 02 4x4 QC with AC died. I started the truck to warm it up and when I turn on the blower the lower two speeds did nothing. I had the third and high speeds for just a moment and then they quit. Temperature and vent controls are still ok.

Now I pulled the connector from the blower and when jumped directy to the battery it works. I then check voltage to the connector at the blower and regardless of the switch setting it is always getting about 8.7 volts.

I then pulled the switch out of the dash and disconnected it. Checking all of the wires in the connector to ground they are all 8.7 volts. There is no change in voltage regardless of which wire is checked.

Does any body have any suggestions on what is wrong and where to go from here.

Thanks,
Peter B

what duranged said, also this is a dealer part only, runs between $10-$15located on the blower housing over the passengers feet, 2 torx screws hold it in..

Had to change my resistor also due to low speed loss. Autozone was able to get me one in one day. Easy to change.

Yup... I second the blower motor resistor..

My fan never worked on the highest setting sincei bought the thing, but I didn't really care about that. The other day we had the coldest day that we've had all winter and mine decided to stop working at all...

$20 and 5 minutes of your life..
