Paint Question?

Default Paint Question?

Today i scracthed up the lower plastics bumper and i want to repaint it? i have some spray paint that is the color match of the truck. can i use that on this plastic bumper or do i need something else? Do i need to primer it or clear coat it ? Any tips would be great.. thanks

in my experiences with painting plastic, you need to do good job sanding it first or you will get that bubbly look as if there was oil on the bumper. it needs to be very very clean too. im no expert but you can try that or have it done at a shop and they will paint the whole thing so it will match for sure. youdont want to have a light or a dark area where you touched up. or at least ask a shop some opinions, but then they will probably just tell you to bring it in and then want to charge you up that wazoo for a touch up job lol

where is a place to get touch up paint in a spray can form for a decent price?

Motor Supply, or even possibly a Napa or Carquest. Motor supply will mix up the paint just like a paint shop would get it, then they can put it in a small spray can for you as well.
