Hi All,

I'm looking for some help with my 2001 Dakota (4.7L). Last night, I tried to start the truck normally but heard a loud pop from under the hood. The battery has juice, but the starter won't turn and I don't think that the ignition is firing (no clicks).

Has anyone had a similar problem, or can you offer a suggestion? Please throw some ideas out there; I'm stranded in Spokane.

its a dodge j/k make sure that ur battery cables arnt coroded... but sounds like a bad starter

 

Thanks guys. Battery and connections look good. All fuses in engine compartment are good. So I'm thinking starter as well.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO CHECK THE STARTER BEFORE INSTALLING A NEW ONE?
