Did the R/T come with a 318 or was it strictly a 360?
just a disagreement i've been having with a friend of mine and i want to clear it up

 

the R/T only came with the 5.9/360 engine, that was what made it special, it was the only way you could get the 5.9; engine in a dak

 

I believe in Canada they had a 4x4 version with a 5.2L that was labled R/T. Maybe it was Mexico. You can tell them from the US models because they had different taillights.

And no they didn't come factory with a twin turbo. But all US models most definatly came with 360's.

The "R/T" was originallyfeatured on a DCbrocureas a 4x4 with a 5.2L, but when they finally released them they offered those as the "Sport" version and did something different for the "R/T"

Actually they madenon-RT Dakota's w/ the 5.9. You could get them in the QC SLT models. Our old neighbor had one. And I've seen several of them. Look them up on eBay or autotrader.



OP- Yes the RT only camew/ the 5.9 rated at 250hp and 345tq.They were all auto, and all 2wd. Available only in single caband ext cab.

 

In the U.S. anyway. R/T's in other countries came with the 5.2. rtkota5point9 already covered that and he's right

 

I just so happen to be the proud owner of a 5.9 qc slt! YAY me!

 

i went wheelin in a 4x 5.9 the other day..its a beast offroad

 

When they came out though the R/T was the only way to get a 5.9L in aDakota. But yeah the new quads had them.
