My 4.7 has rough idle and sometime when I have it in gear backing up or at a light it will cut out. It kinda sounds like its missing, but it seems ok at highway speed. I changed the spark plugs with Autolite copper core and gapped them to .40. Any ideas?

 

sounds like the IAC motor is going bad... controls the idle.

 

is there an IAC on the 4.7, i know for the 3.9/5.2/5.9 there is but for some stupid reason i didnt think there was on the 4.7 i could be wrong, but i dont feel like going out to look so you can just correct me if im wrong

 

You may need to clean your throttle body. when they start to build up gunk, the symptom is a rough idle and stalling

 

Should have mentioned it has 37k miles and was doing this before I changed the plugs.

 

first off i asume there arnt any codes

could be a bad coil, however that wouldnt cause it to die, im with STEVE on the IAC, while ur at it clean ur whole intake...

 

The check engine light hasnt come on at all. I checked the checkers website and it doesnt list idle air anything for this year and engine.
