Default Fuel Pump Question!

Okay so this is probably a simple question to most...but i really need to know. on my '97 dak the fuel pump is not wired through the right fuse, it is wired through an extra fuse space, and it is wired to come on when the key is turned to the ON position....the rad fan is also.....will this affect the performance or gas mileage of the truck. basically my question is, is it okay to be wired to come on on the ON postion, or does it need to be through the right relay for any reason, other than tthe fact it might use more battery power when listening to the rado? thanks for any help. i would really not have to re-route the wires unless it affect performance.

Default RE: Fuel Pump Question!

All 2nd gen dakota fuel pumps are wired to prime when the key is turned to the on (aka accessories) position.
