Default cab is leaking

my '98extended cabis leaking (alot) of water in the cab when it rains. it's confined to the drivers side front and the carpet is soaked under the floor mat. i reached up under the dash and i can feel some water but cannot determine its point of entry. no it is not the heater core... that would be the passenger side and i changed that last year. (what a pita, but that is another story). the windshield has never been replaced, the truck has never been wrecked, and all of the weatherstrip around the door and glass seems to be intact and ok. i'm at a loss on this one. has anyone had a similar problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. --thanx

There are a few grommets in the firewall, did one get removed or did it rot out or something? Thats the only thing i can think of. Just an idea to help eleminate things.

My 98 CC was leaking badly and pooling up on the passenger side. I took out as many interior panels as I could and pulled up the carpet and had some inside while I went around the exterior windows and cowl with a garden hose. Water was coming in from where the vent comes up under the cowl (was able to reach in and silicone) and was coming in through gasket on rear window(again sealed with silicone)
