Default Traded '03 v6 for '04 v8 [:D][:D][:D]

Got rid of the Green Quad 4x4,small tires, basic loaded and got a '04 black
quad with every option (except leather...the dogs nails scratch the $&*# out of it and security...there is one as part of the remote starter) including the V8,big tires ,infinity and allwheel drive.

The gas economy was my only concern. I just did a trip to Fort McMurray,AB. from Sherwood Park ,trying to average 145kph and used $56 .With the v6 I had trouble holding that speed and it cost $58when gas was $.02 cheaper / litre. So the hard hiway milage is the same and the V8 isn't even broken in yet!!!

Around town the gas lite in the v6 would come on at about 470km...the v8 at about 460km.

IMO the v6 is no bargain!!!!

I bought a new '04 V8 Quad-cab 4x4 and after a little over 5000 miles, I average about 15.3 MPG in it. I installed a topper on it recently, and I think it hurt my mileage a little, rather than helping it. But it sure looks good! I love the truck........ hope you like yours!

I have had my '04 Silver Quad Cab for about 3 months and 6000 miles and I average about 14-15 mpg with mostly freeway stop and go. I have a tonneau cover on mine and that helped the mileage by about 1mpg.
