rad fan
please try not to laugh as i ask this.
My truck has been wrecked and the rad fan is obviously hooked up through a fuse to come on when ACC does, which seems to be no problem.
Here is the thing tho, the rad fan is blowing air toward the engine...is that right?
Here is my cai ?... if i run the pipe to right in front of the fan, will the temp be any lower/ higher? Is air coming from the radioator hot or cold?

Is your rad fan eletric? Most fans on Dakotas are clutch driven, meaning they are controlled by a clutch on the serpentine belt. The fan blows air towards your motor. The CAI will be getting hot air no matter what unles you build a box of some sort to block it form the heat of the engine bay, or have the filter mounted outside of the engine bay.
My 04 Dakota 4.7has an electricradiator fan in the back of the radiator between the radiator and clutch fan that comes off the water pump.It comes on only when the AC is on. That may be normal. I just dropped a K&N filter in, inplace of the stock filter, and am happy with the results. Just out of curiosity, do you really feel that you run your truck to the extreme that you deem necessary to add such an intake ?
Actually my fan is electric. It has to be, it comes on with the accessories.... and the A/C is disconnected....so i think it would be a help... if you dont believe me ill take pics and let u look 4 urself...
With that said, would a CAI help much?
