Default rear sliding window

so it was semi warm out today and i had the back window cracked so i could hear my truck cuz i miss hearing it in the winter with the windows up and what not. anyways it wasn't opening very easy and when i looked at it the rubber part on the outside is ripped in the one spot. i was wondering if there its anyway to replace or fix this because i could see it as being a problem when it rains if it comes off compltely and i always use that window too.

the seal is part of the rear glass and not serviced separately. the slider can be replaced by itslef, but that is not your problem. unfortunately, you will need to replace the entire rear glass to solve your problem. some dealers are now part of the Mopar glass program, so you can get the assembly a bit cheaper now. if not, you can go aftermarket for a fair price.

Wow! $600.00 is way too much to pay. You need to start checking around with all the glass companies in your area and do some price comparisons. I have seen dakota back glasses for much less than that.

Don't give up the slider becasue of a seal! I am certain that you can find it much cheaper that your initial number of $600. There are a ton of options out there. Like I said, start checking with your glass companies and dealer. And remember, it is OK to fib about price. If you talk to one glass company for a quote, and then another, you should be able to work them all on price. Everyone wants your business, and everyone will work to get it. Just play the game and you should be able to locate a really good price.Oh, and don't forget. A glass company price quote normally includes part and installation together. Make sure that you get that before they come out and pull out your back glass!

$600 is nuts. There are two on Ebay right now for your 2000, OEM style being sold by Sandman's Auto parts. Great people to deal with, and they DO stand by their parts. I'd check out their ad on Ebay at least. Just go to Ebay and type in Dodge Dakota sliding window in the search area. It is not being sold in an auction format, it is a buy it now for $194.95 plus $24.95 to ship it. A far cry from $600.
