98 Dakota Check GAGES
I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab with the 3.7 Ltr V-6.
The CHECK GAGES dash comes on dings along with the oil pressure gauge going dead.
Then the light will go off and the gauge is working properly after the next start.
One time when it did it we checked the oil pressure manually and it is strong.
No fault codes, changed the oil pressure sending unit and still doing it after we drive it for 20 mins or so.
Help please.

Well, I think it's a 3.9 liter, but that's neither here nor there...
In my opinion, if your not leaking oil and you change it regularly, put some black tape over that crap and go down the road!!! Unless of course you want to pay someone to look at it, then to fix it. Just make sure you don't leak, and you don't go over 3000 miles.
Strange though. [:-]
