I am having an argument with a cat in the computer club I go to. he says that if you jam the power steering wheel hard to the stop that the pressure will spike to 2500 psi. well I knew that the normal operating psi in most systems is 900-1300 psi, just to be sure I did some research and I found out that iam right on the operating pressures. having worked for years on industrial hydraulic systems I knew that you can not see a fast spike by looking at a gauge. so my question is . “has anyone put a transducer hooked to oscilloscope to see the fast spike?” I dont think it will spike that high, because I think the hose would pop open. also the pump is a VERY cheep pump, that I think the pump would just lay down. also most auto pumps are 1.2 to 1.5 gpm, this pump will require aprox 1hp at 1000 psi. kick the psi to 2500 psi and hp required goes to 2.5 to 3.0 hp.
