*PLEASE HELP ME HELP MY FATHER* Dakota R/T help!
Alright, my father is a HUGE mopar nut – he owns a 1999 dodge Dakota r/t Black with the silver lettering and tail stripe . . . . My problem is I’m an fbody guy LT1s and what not – I know plenty about his truck to do maintenance on it and what not but it’s hard to find parts for R/Ts or dodges in general. . . .here’s a picture for those too drool over. . .trust me this truck is mean full boltons and tune. . .it smokes the tires all day and pulls on my camaro pretty nicely.

Anyways, my father loves this truck pretty much as much as he loves me. I can understand I’m a huge car guy and I love my Camaro a hell of a lot too. . .but recently he has been down on his luck with things. . . .first starting with this past Christmas break – he lives in Austin in a town home residence and that particular night he was having a Christmas party his neighbor allowed him to park his truck over in his drive way next door literally the only thing separating the drive ways is a small flower bed – the neighbor was invited and did attend the party as he is a family friend. But the downside of everything is he forgot my father’s truck was behind his garage and pulled his big Chevy suburban out and fish hooked the whole tail side of the truck bed including the fender flares backing out to go get dog food. . . .alright dating to two weeks ago. . .my brother who is a very good go around nice guy who trys his best to take care of our stuff but really doesn’t understand what our cars mean to us barrows my father’s truck. . . .He parks it in down town Austin. My father generally has this rule of treat his cars like he treats them . . .so the obvious thing would have been park it in a parking garage. Needless to say he parked in the street and a passing by fish hooks the passenger side all the way up to the front fender. My father hadn’t had the driver side fixed yet because he’s dealing with some pretty huge issues personally and professionally. Nothing catastrophic just stress related and time consuming so no time to take the truck to the body shop just yet . . . . plus he’d rather wait for when it’s warmer. So now both sides of the truck are fished hooked and in need of repair . . .my brother feels guilty for what he did and wanted to do something to at least try and attempt to help my father in repairing his truck that he dearly loves.
I wrote this because I figured most of you dodge guys are loyal to each other and would understand the pain my dad feels. . . .this truck is parked in the garage 24/7 and only in rare occasions has he let people barrow it or parked it in a “trusting” neighbor’s driveway. . .so to have this happen in both instances is really . . .well ****ty.
Anyways what I really need to know from everyone is how much a full set of R/T fender flares costs and possibly a new truck bed. . . .I haven’t seen pictures of the front passenger fender but I’d love to know how much that would be as well or if anyone can provide me links to a few good sites.
Thanks everyone!

Sorry to hear!If you are going to be sending it out to a body shop for paint anyway, you can get primered R/T fender flares on eBay as well as most truck parts websites. As far as the bed, I would look locally because I don't think maby people are willing to ship them, and if they were it would cost an arms and a leg I'm sure.
thanks guys, so i can trust ebay on this one? - with most of the stuff for camaros and what not that's sold on ebay it's really untrustworthy. ..most everying doesn't fit for our cars aftermarket or refab wise. . .i'll look into ebay stuff for my pop though!

I'd definitely look at the local junkyards and local areas, because the bed's on these trucks would cost you a fortune to mail. For the cost, you could probably drive there and back twice.
The fender flares for these trucks can be bought just about anywhere, and you can get them painted to match before they even ship. However, if your going to do as much repair work as it sounds like, id save the money and the body shop paint them.
Also, something to consider is that if the bed itself is not bent, then you should be able to get the dents and what not repaired. The only time you should need to replace the bed is if its actually bent, which most likely means your frame took a good whack too...
Good luck, and that is a sweet truck...
if it helps,
here's a couple pics of a bed that needs replaced, barely

\/this was the deciding factor, unless i cut a quarter of the bed off longways, it's not worth fixing\/
