I managed 400 miles on a tank over the last couple of days... QC 4x4 AT 4.7 motor. took all 22 gallons to fill it back up, equaled 18.2 mpg.

what's the most miles you've driven in a tank of fuel in your Dak?

 

well i always fillup at 1/4 tank but i think i hit 350 once, that was 100% highway and idk what the mpgs were and i dont feel like going outside int he snow to check what the actual high on it was

 

I was shocked... I didnt think I could do it. I also just pulled off a 700 mile tank on the Ram...

 

havent had mine long enough to know really...plus im not done with trying to add MPG's (still need a tonneau) by the way, i want to add that ireally think a tonneau will help. last night i was out and is was lightly raining so the bed was wet, when i got home,about 1/4 of the bed was dry towards the tailgate, this tells me that there is wind coming over the cab and getting caught against the tailgate and dried the bed in that area, think there is any truth to that?...but i have gotten around 350 to a tank, but usually fill up when the fuel light comes on at 1/8th ofa tank...

 

WTF?! I can never get over 210 in my Club Cab 4x4. I am starting to think there is somethings screwed up with my system....

 

I have gotten 350 miles on 14 gallons. I got 25 mpg which has only happened once.

 

steve im guessing that u use the numpad ont he keyboard 700 miles per one tank on a ram, how big is the tank like 50 gallons?????

or was it a typo and you meant 400????

 

the problem is most likely your lead foot, get it replaces w/ a lighter model and that should help, o and its a fairly cheap procedure from what i understand

 

Steve's got a diesel Ram, and he's doing alot of highway mileage which helps....


The most I ever got in my Dakota wasabout 450miles on a single tank. I managed to go from Indianapolis to Radcliffe, KY, to Sturgis, KY on a single tank....I filled up as we were leaving Sturgis, but I was on E....gas tank light had come on...

2001 Motorsports Edition Clubcab 4.7L V8 - 2wd - fiberglass bed cover - soundsystem plus camping equipment w/ 2 people riding in the truck. Ran 60-65mph most of the way, virtually all of it was on cruise control....


Coincidentally, I managed to take my supercharged Beretta Z26 from Indianapolis to Key West and back....averaging about 450 miles to the tank per fill up.....again, riding cruise 95% of the time..

 

k i did not realize his ram was diesel, but still 700 miles is alot even on the highway i mean damn!!!
