Default Underdrive Pulleys and Electric Fans

I found answers to all but one of these posts. It really helps to not be so tired when I do research.
I drive a 99 Dakota Sport 3.9l with Dynomax Cat, Flowmaster Exhaust, and V8 TB.

UNDERDRIVE PULLEY-
I know that underdrive pulleys lighten the load on whatever they are driving. (Water pump, alt., etc.).
As for the water pump should I worry if I put in an 180T Stat and will it cause problems with engine getting to temp or cab warming up?
As far as the alternator goes will I have to worry about anything if I plan on adding some MSD components and an electric fan at a later date? (If so can this be overcome with a stronger alt.?)
I do not think the AC is an issue as it has not worked in over a year and I tend to like the heat anyway.
I thought I recalled someone saying that they did a pulley swap and it came with instructions/info on the new belt size needed. Is this true?
ELECTRIC FAN-
I will, at some point, install an electric fan in my truck. I read about some of you v8 guys doing this. I am wondering if there is a direct fit fan for the v6 application or maybe one that requires minor modifications.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well all i have to say is BUMP!

I am very interested in these anwsers too. I assume that an electric fan would need a little modding to get it mounted. And if i recall correctly the 180 tstat wont effect your warm up time (dont have yet just what i remember reading here ). I have read mixed things about the under drive pullys, ive read that they dont affect the devices there are running and ive heard that you can run into issues esp. with the alt.

the thermal stat doesn't open until the coolant temp is 180 degrees so the temp will rise until it reaches temp.

i have an underdrive pulley. Its great and made a noticable difference. i have the cheap one thats just a single pulley on the crank. Cons: at idle the A/C doesnt work so great and depending on what you have turned on the voltage drops to about 13v when stopped. on the freeway it made a 2mpg gain in fuel economy. Electric fans are the same idea and while i dont run one on my truck they do work. My buddy had a pimped out volvo with an aftermarket electric fan and it was nothign but problems so im kinda biased against them.

Mine has both electric and a clutch fan. Do you think if I yanked the clutch fan off the electric could keep up?

You would need to know the cubic feet of air it is moving per minute.

Well thanks for in info Kurby, thats pretty much what i have heard. Do you think that a cheap lanzar 4 chan amp would affect the system at idle? Id saw its about 400w RMS maybe a lil less.

if you read up on how an alternator's 'guts' works

http://www.autoshop101.com/trainmodu...or/alt101.html

you will discover that putting an underdrive pulley on it does not 'free up' any horsepower
when the rpm of the engine is above 1000
because the 'rotor excitation current'
will just increase to compensate for slower rpm speed

also consider that if you put underdrive pulleys on the water pump
it may free up horsepower for a few seconds
but then if one of the cylinders starts detonating (pinging)
all the gained horsepower will be lost

underdrive pulleys work best
on the power steering pump
and ac compressor
