Default Car wont stay cranked

Ok heres the deal, got into my truck, was listening to the radio, making adjustments to the radio. The CHECK GAUGES light came on, I tried to start it, it wouldnt turn over at all. Charged the battery and it would turn over but wouldnt stay started unless I was giving it gas, as sson as I let off it would go dead. Did a CODE CHECK and no codes came up. I am looking for any advice!!!

Bad ground, one of the main ones. I saw it on a bunch of durangos and 2 dakotas. It was usually the main ground for the dash assembly but once it was one of the engine grounds. The computer ground gets messed up and stops signaling correctly

Thanks man, we checked out the computer and after I installed the fuse that blew I didnt give the computer enough time to reset itself. After we kept it running for about 10 mins the computer reset and it has been fine since then. (knock on wood)!! I appreciate it though.

Sounds like a battery with a dead cell. See how many volts it is putting out with everything off, then see how many volts it is putting out when you crank the motor.

Also make sure your battery terminals are in good shape.

Something else you should know also....with any 3.9 5.2 4.0 or 5.9 Dodge engine, if you disconnect the battery for any reason and for any period of time, or if the battery is getting weak, your truck will start but will not idle. It will continue to do this until you force it to idle for a period of time. Sometimes they will die and sometimes they will idle around 3000 rpms.
In either case, if it does this, drive the vehicle. Usually after about 5 miles of driving, the vehicle should idle normally. Just a FYI
