Default That new guy with lots of dumb questions

[hr]I've been a Dodge/Jeep owner since my first car. 01 Cherokee, 01.5 2500, 03 and 04 2500. Lots of mods on all. Now I have nothing, but was thinking about getting something that I could use to haul stuff around. Random construction material for home work, firewood, whatever. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction in terms of models and years. I know that with the other vehicles I've owned there were obscure differences even in half-years that could make a nice difference (e.g. rear discs vs drums or a 12" rear end vs 11" Rear end) and you sometimes really wish you knew about those differences before hand.

I believe what I'm looking for is a manual trans, 4x4 - What is the transmission they put in this and what TCase?

I think I'd like the longest bed possible., but at least a 2+2 or whatever you call it (4 doors not necessary, but seating for dog on backseat required). If getting a 4 door means the bed shrinks then quad maybe not worth it?? How long is the bed on these things?

Towing: How much do these trucks weigh (guessing 4500+?) and is it possible to tow 5000-5500 with them? For arguement, let's say towing with a gooseneck, which changes the weight distro dramatically, way more than any WD setup, and brake controller. Are there any "towing packages" I should look for. I know sometimes these packages come with items that make it much smarter to just get the package than think about adding these items afterwards e.g. towing package may mean larger axles. Different axles ratios, etc.

Motor: Not very familiar with choices... 5.2 or 4.7?

Price: Always the determining factor, had not thought hard about it but I would say 6-8k? NOT 10000.

Thanks so much.
