Default Shocks

Im getting ready to replace the shocks on my 03 dak QC 4WD and wondering what would be the best
option for the money.
The truck is mostly used as a commuter but it will be going off road a bit come hunting season.
I live in Idaho and we have a ton off rutty beat up roads so Im going to need something that will hold up.

Im looking at some Explorer Pro Comp MX6 monotubes but i would beinterested in looking at other brands as well.
I know Bilstien makes some good shocks, as does Rancho and Ive seen a ton of KYB but i dont know much about them...what say you?

im not much help here and id like to know myself what kind to get from others on this site. i do mostly street driving but if i want to do some light offroading i dont want mushy shocks either. maybe an 80/20 street/offroad shock.

like about anything else i do, i do research online mostly...dealers will always try and suck money out of you and get you to buy stuff you dont really need. look at review sites and other forums, thats what i usually do. or call around to some reputable 4x4 shops.

I used Monroe Sensatrak truck shocks, and really like them. They are expensive, like $175 for four, but I got a deal for four on Ebay for $119.

I just put on a set of Bilsteins a few weeks ago. They worked out just fine. I haven't really driven enough with them to get enough of a feel for how they compare to OEM. The weather has been pretty good lately and with gas approaching $4 a gallon, I've been riding my bike to work as much as possilble.

I ordered and installed the Procomp ES3000 front and rear.
so far I like em...notTOO much bounce in the rear and overall performance has increased.
I figure $185 for a set of 4 isnt too bad and they have a life time warranty...besides anything beats STOCK!
