My buddy is a really good painter and were thinking about doing my tail gate and possibly the hood. Might also do the bed since its in bad shape but ill probably end up only doing one or two of those things. We were thinking like a gun metal color and doing like a ram head or something on the tail gate and then maybe running a strip or somehting up the hood. He did this to his jetta and it looks really good. Not sure about the bed sides. I'm just looking for some ideas but more so pics of any custom paint work anyone has had done. Thanks for any ideas.

 

If he's your buddy, and a good painter, and you want custom, just paint the whole thing...

If he's a "really" good buddy, he'll only charge you cost of paint...

do like a metallic dark black/grey it would looks sweet i think. Or some crazy color.

****, you could do a custom paint color from a local auto paint store, for like 100 bucks, if your buddy does it f.o.c. for you...

I priced out a gallon of primer/metallic blue paint/hardener and everything, and that was a gallon of each, DuPont paint, for like 230 dollars, I was gonna do both my Celica and my truck the same color...

How about a Titanium Silver on just the fender bulges, then the same color for wide viper like stripes over the hood and tailgate.

You need ideas, I got plenty.... some are even good.

thanks for all the ideas. we did his roof today and it came out really good. We were thinking of doing something similar to his hood on my truck but with like a gun metal or dark grey metalic color. Here is a pic of what we did today it was takin with a phone so the qualitys not the best. We just did the roof today supposed to be a german flag incase anyone was wondering why there is yellow.
