hi all. does anybody know what the 2nd box is that is connected to my stock airfilter? is it an intake silencer? is it some sort of vacuum chamber? what would happen if i disconnected it from my airfilter?

 

Well, before you can get a satisfactory answer, we need to know Year, Model and Engine size.

 

ah my bad. i drive a 99 dakota sport club cab. it has the 2.5 liter engine, which is pure crap and has zero horses. i want to increase the power of my motor. i was wondering if disconnecting this box might increase my airflow. ill post some pics of my motor later.
