truck stalled when driving
i had recently had my exhaust replaced, the cat and muffler and tail pipes.
i have a 98 dakota w 5.2L 4x4
and i have had the truck stall twice on me as i am driving. I had pushed the throttle down and it just got slower and slower.......then it quit......it started right back up no problem. I am wondering what it could be. I will be buying a scanner to find the codes out. I have had no problems with the truck except for now.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

if it started after the exhaust install it could be that something got clogged in the new stuff that they put on or either the new muffler or cat is a defect
I could guess they shorted something when welding... I had something similar, and it was the coil. I would bring to a mechanic with a internal scanner, this way you get stored codes, not just when a CEL is on.
welcome to DF...
if it stalled while driving at speed... coil or crank position sensor. since it started after the install I'd look at the crank sensor wiring 1st... they could have damaged it. sits behind the passenger side head on the bell housing.
