i think these trucks are pretty tough and reliable as long as they've been taken care of and not been abused. i was used to a solid front and rear axle cherokee that i drove day in and day out for 2.5 years and loved that thing so my truck doesn't feel like that thing did but i'd still say there not undersized. the rear end i have is used in the rams and they also but the same 4.7 and tranny in them too. plus what other mid size truck offers a V8 at least back when our trucks were new.

Well, closing in on 170,000 miles on the original engine and transmission here...

You're the one who claimed they're not good. So I guess the burden of proof is on you. What's your experience been? Been through a few trannies have you? Did you buy the trucks new? Service history, etc?

I guess what we're saying is, you may have had bad luck, but your experiences don't apparently match those ofothers here.

as far as the bolt pattern goes im pretty sure that the 6x4.5 also came on the nissan xterra for a year or two and i think(not sure) that the caddilac cts-v came in the 6x4.5 pattern as well.

on the dependability of the trucks, ive got a 97 v6 club cab and i can tell you that i rag the **** outta my truck and its pushing 180,000mi on it. i towed a 4000 lbs trailer back and forth from california to marylandonce moving out there and once back and it only had the issue of not having enough power going uphill. i have a new found respect for this little truck seeing how bad i beat on er and she still stands up.
