strait pipe adds like 12 hp and ALOT of responce (cat and muffler less)
I completely disagree with that- until i see dyno results.

Thanks a lot, guys. I'm going to wait until my stock muffler NEEDS to be replaced and then put a Magnaflow on. It's actually cheaper than Mopar, through Canadian Tire, anyways.

LOL, Canadian tire is a rip off, but magnaflow is the way to go, it has a lifetime warranty. Also, your stock one will probably not go, your truck will probably blow before you need a new muffler...

i agree with most everyone here too...mufflers dont wear out unless you live in a cold area where roads are salted or near a coast where salt air is constantly on it to corrode metal. i have a hard time believing that just a muffler will give 10hp. i want a muffler just for the cool sound you get from a V-8, like back in my high school days with my 340 charger

their "guarantee" sounds intriguing. What are the details? You said they guarantee 10%. What will they do if it doesn't? Buy the muffler back? Or pay for it and let you keep it?
Okay, I re-read and it's not really a "guarantee", but this is what I was working with.

I figure that if someone who installs their cat-back system doesn't notice a difference, I definitely won't.

BTW, I do live in the "snow belt", and we use a lot of salt from November to March.

Yeah, when you are talkin about exhaust on a car thats one thing. And while a aftermarket muffler will give you some benefits, I wouldn't see it bein more than 5-6 hp. Now if you were talkin about running full 3" and no cats, or duals, that would be a different story
