Jasper does a good rebuild & stands behind their work with a good warrenty.
I've bought two rebuilds from them with one going back because of a soft
cam. No probs. Sent me a new one right to my door 4 days later.
I payed 1300 or 1600 (Can't remember) for a 460 Ford big-block) about 4 yrs
ago from them. Also, a 350 short-block about 2 yrs ago. The cost,.. It's a little
more than others but they do good work. I will probably buy from them again
when my 360 in my Ram lets go... (223,000 miles on it).
Dakota has 162,000 on it.
Was thinking about a stroker for either one but my god, with the gas prices the
way they are now I don't dare!

there are a ton of places to look...do a google or yahoo search for rebuilt engines for starters...craigslist is a good place too. also check junk yards. some offer warranties.

i may be wrong but it may be cheaper to get one rebuilt than getting a new one or even a low mileage used engine...what i would do isget a wore out one for next to nothing and then get it rebuilt, that way you know what has been done to it and you can do a couple performance mods at the same time
