I'm new here and have a problem with my 99 dakota, 3.9L. The engine turn over and only start if you manually give it fuel. It will not idle and dies if you remove your foot from the throttle. I believe it to be a fuel pump problem. Do the pumps have a pulsating mode for idle. Anyone know where the fuel filter is. Its a club cab if that make a difference.
on my 2000 the speed sensor or something like that went out on it and coused the same problem. did the computer through a code? the sensor was on the rear axle housing.
I don't know about the idling prob but maybe I can help with the fuel filter. I have a 98 5.2 Extended cab and the fuel filter on it is inside the fuel tank.
