Default cost for swap

Im looking at swapping my tired 3.9 4x4 98 engine for a 5.2 or 5.9 soon and was wondering how much it would cost for a shop to do the swap, im thinking i would buy the engine and new trans from a junk yard if i can find one(are they hard to find with complete electrical ect?) how much should i expect to pay for everything?

id just get a new truck, or swap out for a fresh 3.9

you will never recoup the money you spend on doing all that work. imagine what you can do with 3 or 4 grand to the truck you have instead of going through the trouble of doing all that work.

you can get a brand new engine, trans, suspension, brakes, overhaul the rearend, and still have money left over for cosmetic stuff and come out of it with a better than new truck.

varsis did it for under $1,500 I think. and he used the same tranny too. just find a roll over truck and get the motor and wiring off it.
