Output speed sensor

Default Output speed sensor

My truck is a 99 Dakota with the 318 and 4 x 4, it has thrown the code for the output speed sensor. Just a couple of questions 1 where is it located its like only a $16.00 part. Also what dose it do because cents all of this has started my tranny has been acting up and the idal has gotten a little rough any help would be appreciated thanks.[/align]

on my 98 (when i still had it i did this) it was on the drivers side of the transmission, just forward(on the vehicle) of where the drive shaft and the transmission meet,

before i replaced mine the truck would rev almost to the limiter before shifting out of first, and then the rest of the shifts would be fine
