I recently got a car charger for my laptop. I had it plugged into a 1 to 3 12 volt adapter. I was plugged in adn everything was going good for about 10-20 minutes. Then the fuse blew. I replaced itand unplugged the 1 to 3 adapter and plugged the laptop straight to the 12 volt plug. The second I plugged it in, it blew another fuse. I went and bought so more fuses. I even tires to plug laptop in and then put the fuse in, and blew, and also if I plugged the car charger in adn then [t the fuse in and ten plug in the laptop, and again it blew. I called it quits because i didn't want to blow all the fuses up. I put one fuse in and plugged the 1 to 3 adapter and just hooked the normal stuff up , and let the laptop unplugged and everything works. I know the laptop might be draining more power then a cell phone charger or radar dectector, but why was it working fine for 10-20 minutes and now not even for a second? Also how can hook up the laptop charger without blowing fuses? I don't really want to put a bigger fuse, 20A or so, because I don;t want to burn up the wires. Any help would be great.

good thinking about not wainting to blow all your fuses. check on how much power the laptop needs against the power avalible.. if you are forced to, build a coustom power supply, and come stright from the battery with a switch, and fuse to the coustom power supply to the lap top. i know it sounds like a lot of work, but it might be the best way. much beter than burning up the stock wiring..
