Ok, working at a garage, we have a 01 Dakota sport 2 wheel drive extended cab. The pinion seal is leaking, no big deal, order the part and its too small, customer brought one in it was also too small. any idea if they put a larger rear end in these trucks? and if so what should i order for parts should i get one from a 1500? on the rear end there is a sticker that says 3.55 and also says 377.... if thats any help i dont know. Need help asap customer waiting on this truck. Thanks

 

there are two diffrent rear diff's in these trucks, the 8.25 which is a 10 bolt, and a 9.25 which is a 12 bolt cover. You may have gotten a seal for a 8.25 rear end and you have 9.2 rear end.
