P0455 (M) Evap Leak Monitor Large Leak Detected A large leak has been detected in the evaporative sysem.

SO my check engine light came on the other nite on my way home from work . pulled up the codes and got the above mentioned. read in my hanes manual but didnt fully understand it . checked the vac lines going to the canister under the truck all look ok. Cleared out the code. this morning left for work , all the way there no light . Left work tonite and the dang thing came back on. Id like to fix this myself if i can as i dont really wanna take it in ...also can i still drive it with this code[sm=WTFsgign.gif] Any Ideas ??

Have you tried a new gas cap? Mine kept throwing the 455 code. I bought a new (locking) cap and its been fine.

 

No I havent tried a new cap, though this just reminded me i did get gas the day before the light came on. but didnt think nothing of it as the light should of came on then ? I always tighten the cap but hey I'll give it a shot Thanks for the tip !
