moe in wichita ks
3.405 stroke, thats an odd number. i all ways thought that it was odd that a 318 had 3.31 stroke and a 383 had 3.38 stroke. thats only .07 more. but i realy loved the 413s 440s 3.75 stroke i had a 65 300L chrysler 413 4 barrel i could go down a dirt road at 25 mph leave the trans in 3rd gear open the carb secondarys staying in 3rd and it would turn the tires and move the dirt. try that with a 4 speed

i looked at 2 club cabs over the weekend, a 98 and 2000, both v8, the 98 was a manual. on both of them the driver seat was trashed. they had no support whatsoever and i could feel springs and what not on my backside. it was like kids had been jumping on them for the last 10 years. anyone else have the problem?

the search goes on. oh yeah driving the 98 with the 5.2 manual i almost cracked my daughters head open on the back window. she was in the back (club cab) and when i went into second, it kind of slipped on me and lurched forward pretty good and she banged her head on the window. might have to go with a quad cab

My '02 had 120k miles when I traded it. The driver's seat had lost most of its support just from hauling my 180lb. butt.

well, im going to atlanta this coming weekend to look at a few quad cabs. for some reason there are more there for sale than up here around charlotte. i'll be calling a few of the dealers before i go down to see if i can get a deal done over the phone before i drive the neon down. i'll update next week, hopefully with a kota sittin in the driveway! wish me luck!

I have the 04 CC 4wd with the 4.7 and it gets about 14 in town and 18 on the hwy with 285s. It is the auto and has plenty enough power for me. The 318s get about 10-12tops from my experience with them and the oil pumps are bad about going out. My seat is still good btw and i have 105k miles on mine.

The 4.7 is more refined in my opinion as well. But if it were me I'd go 5.2 because I could throw 5.9 parts on it asap. Plus all the 5.2's I've ever had just would not die.

I have had 0 issues with my 4.7. Keep oil in it, change/clean filters, and give a lil love here and there...I dont know...I guess some of the early ones had crappy batches of sensors. Anyway, My seat blows...has since day 1. ok, maybe day like 12. If the truck is a good price, just get different seats! for 50-100 bucks, you could be happy if the truck is mechanically sound..

Very interesting to see your mileage figures. I've got a set of 4.10's waiting go in and my only concern has been POSSIBLE loss of mileage.

I say possible because I was hoping that the lighter loading on the engine would compensate for the higher revs, for a given road speed.

Your figures look like I'm right! :-)
