Default Transmission Swap

Well, As many of you know I have the 5.9 magnum, I am hoping to do a tranny swap to a 46re, what would be the best stuff to get done, here are a few High Stall converter and Manual Valve Body.

hi varsis. i would not use a manual **** on a street machine, a manual shift will most likely not make it faster than a auto shift. i would have a shift kit though. a co. named transgo makes a line of good shift kits. i have used there shift kits, just dont put a race kit on a street truck, the race kit is a bit harsh for street. it took out the spider gears in 50,000 on a 7 1/4 dia rearend. i have used 2 qts of rearend grease in the 727 and 904, but i dont know how it will work on the newer trans. a aux. cooler is a must, with a stall convertor. back it the late 60s every one was ajusting the throttle pressure so it shifted early by its self, then hold it back with the lever then pop it up one gear at a time. it would shift real crisp. good luck.

Hah, no viper here, this is going to be a chewing machine not a street machine, once I strengthen the tranny it's going up. SAS, with leafs and dana 60 front and rear.

Hey, I know this a bit late but I'm just doing some research for a transmission swap I would like to do as well. I have a 2001 R/T with the 5.9L and the crapy auto transmission. The frequent problem of the 1st-2nd shift (and the added value of a manual) have given me the need to switch to a manual. I know I'm posting a different question on your thread, but I was just interested in how your trans swap went (or if you didn't finsih it). Thank you.
