Angry 01 dakota v6 3.9

I am having a problem with the tranny. It will shift from park to reverse to drive WITHOUT your foot on the brake. I was told by the dealership that this is "normal" (as always). Does anyone out there have a 01' v6 3.9 that is doing the same thing??

I think brake locks are only really on newer autos. I could be wrong, there are always exceptions. You could always "test drive" a dak with the same set up as yours.

thats what I am told. but I would love to find another 01 dak to test cuz I think that is a huge safty factor, especially when ther are kids in the vehicle. ( you never know what they will do when u are not looking)

my R/T does it too. i got a letter from Daimler Chrysler a few months ago about some 'ignition shift interlock' recall they are doing but I'm a lazy sack of crap so i just ignored it. I'd look into that if i were you and see if it applies to your truck as well.
