truck dies out while driving

Default truck dies out while driving

i have a 99 dakota v8 5.2L sometimes when i am driving the truck it will die out on me while i am driving. i then have to wait for about usually 10 15 minutes then it will start right back up like there is nothing wrong does anyone know what can be causing this.

Almost sounds like vapor lock, or the fuel pump is pooping out on you. I would hook up a gauge and see what PSI you're getting.

i had a coil do this to me... Drive fine, out of nowhere die... Sometimes would start sometimes not...

Sounds like just what i had, next time it dies, wiggle those wire grounds on the right side of the truck, and see if you hear the relays clicking in the box on the right side. If so its a bad ground. Thats what did it for me.

hey guys thanks for all the help here a little more info that might help me find the problem it only does it while i am driving it never does it first thing in the morning or whenever i go to leave somewhere its crazy. it always starts when first leave then thats when all the fun starts. like today it die out three times in the matter of like 5 hours. thanks again.

sounds like coil... mine would just random... But just check it all.

how do i check to see if its the coil do i just replace it and hope for the best or what. thanks for the help
