Speed Sensor?
My truck's brake light and ABS light came on, shortly my speedometer went out. Would this be due to the rear speed sensor? The speedometer kicks in once I get to about 50, otherwise its dead
It's the rear one; On top of the rear-end. 24 bucks at Advanced-Auto.
One bolt with two different size nuts on it. 1st nut (maybe a 12mm) holds
two cable-clamps on,.. One for the wire loom to the speed sensor. One for a brake line.
Second nut (maybe 10mm)?? holds a cover in place over the speed sensor.
Then, I think it's two 10mm bolts again, holds the Speed-Sensor into the housing.
You will need a pliers & screwdriver to get it out once the clamps, cover and, two bolts are out. Un-plug the harness. W***le up and side to side with the pliers while prying lightly at the same time
under the sensor edge with the screwdriver to pop it up and out. Clean the hole with a rag, lightly lube the O-Ring
on the new sensor with oil and push it into place. Done,.. Everything else goes back the way it came off. Sorry if the nut & bolt sizes are off because it's been awhile since doing it myself.
