main bearings

Default main bearings

can the main and rod bearings be changed w/ the motor in the truck and if so what's the step's for changing them, thx

You might as well remove it. You can, but it will be a Pain in the ***!

You will have to remove the entire top half of the engine. Not sure if You can change the main bearings.... You could do the rods in the truck but why hassle? when you can just remove it and have a nice area to work in. Also, If your in there change all the bearings up and rebuild as much as you can. Worth it in the long run.

You could change the mains in the truck, but you would have to pull the tranny to get the flex plate off and you would have to pull the timing cover to free up the crank. Definately +1 to varsis
