i'm trying to decide whether to get toyo open country a/ts or the firestone destination m/ts. yeah i'm aware of the tread difference but, i want the one with best overall performance and not murder off my crappy mpg already. my dakota is mainly a highway truck but during the winter months where i live it's just like going off road and mud bogging, including the interstates. what do you guys honestly think? thanks.

just dont go with taller than stock tires and it shouldnt affect your mpg, try tirerack.com they have reviews and stuff on there.

i was gonna go 30x9.5R15, which is ever so slightly bigger than 235/75R15s, but watch they'll be cheaper and end up going that route. tire rack gave the destinations good reviews with not much mention in loss with fuel mileage. the toyos got like 50/50 in reviews but from a few friends i turn wrenches with sy the toyos are good tires. i'm going to need some more opinions, i'm seriously at a stalemate and i'm getting pissed about it. inspection runs up wednesday, and i cant get the toyos until friday, but i probabally can get the firestones tomorrow.. this sucks

toyo open country m/t I am buying a set for my dakota soon, but they are very good for highway noise, not sure how they are on ice and what not. But A/T are crap on mud.

A friend at work put the toyo at tires on here jeep wrangler last fall and says they are great. She hasn't taken it off road but said they handle snow and heavy rain alot better than the bfgoodrich at she had before. and they look pretty good.

I loved the destination mt's when i had them on my jeep and not much loss in fuel economy. they were the best tires i've ever had even though i've only had like 3 sets lol but i loved them.

yeah, i ordered up the destination m/ts, i need the tires asap cause of inspection plus my bfg a/ts suck in the rain. over the weekend i hydroplaned on interstate 287, in jersey, from the middle lane into the median. i was doing about 45 mph when i hit the shallow puddle. came within a few inches of the divider. that sucked. on the way home i would hit small, but wide puddles and my assend would fishtail. o well, no damage to the truck except my toe is jammed to the right, nice right?
