Head Light Relay
Is there a relay that controls the head lights on a 1998 Dakota Sport? While driving at night, the head lights will turn off for some unknown reason. If I leave it be, they will turn on again, but promptly cycle back off within a matter of seconds. Playing with the push/pull switch will turn them back on, but if they are acting up they will likely turn back off momentarily after cycling the switch.
I looked under the hood at the fuse/relay box and only saw a 40amp fuse for the lighting circuit.
Is there anywhere else in the truck that a relay would be located that would likely be causing this problem?
Thanks much.

From what you have said here I would guess it's probably not the relay and definitely not the fuse. I would suspect the headlight switch. Espcially if the switch gets really hot when the lights are on. A Haynes book may tell you how to test the switch or you could just replace it anyway. They don't cost that much.
