Oil coming out of front axle breather tube
i noticed yesterday that there was oil on the ground in front of my 98 dakota 4x4. so i opened the hood and saw that gear oil was seeping out of a tube that is coming out from the front of the axle and the tube stops by the top of the radiator (passenger side). the frame was soaked. the truck was leaning towards the passenger side but its not a big slope at all. the only thing i can think is that it was over way overfilled. what could be wrong?

bought this truck a month ago and had no signs of this. it has yet to see off road other than going up to our camp which is 1/2mile of gravel road. most likely going to open it up either this weekend or next. i havent even been driving it all that much i have a dumptruck that i drive to work everyday
yea, look into it soon, one thing to think of, it may be #1 overfilled and #2 the internals may be getting hotter than they should be, which will push the oil out.
that means you've got "friction problems", which may be why it was overfilled in the first place....
just a thought or 2....
i think of this because at work when we have "friction problems" we just add grease and run it till it breaks

forgot to say this wasnt after driving this was just sitting out in driveway. i was cutting grass and happened to look over and see it. was only 74 out i know that heat wouldnt have anything to do with this.
